Annual Celebrity Chef Auction and Charity Dinner | GLOW

The Community Foundation of NC East could not have been more proud to once again be a major sponsor for the GLOW (Girl’s Leadership Academy of Wilmington) annual Celebrity Chef Auction and Charity Dinner. What an amazing evening we had, as our dear friend and GLOW advocate, Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine from The Food Network, helped prepare an incredible 4-course meal that was beyond fantastic. Over 500 attended this year’s event, held at the GLOW Academy and our Foundation was honored to host such fantastic guests as well as join with so many of our friends and supporters.

Our Foundation has been a supporter of GLOW since its inception and continue to be strong advocates for the significant mission of GLOW which is to Change the World - One Girl at a time. Taking girls from at-risk to leaders is the vision of GLOW, the only single-gender public charter school in North Carolina. GLOW accomplishes this by improving high school graduation and college enrollment rates among girls in high-poverty neighborhoods, and helping them succeed in school and in life. They focus on every facet of a girl’s life, instilling leadership, confidence, engaging family support and offering a program of rigorous academics.
