UPDATE: Hurricane Florence Relief Fund

In September of 2018, Hurricane Florence truly changed the landscape and the lives of countless individuals, families, businesses and non profits. The Community Foundation began its efforts immediately to serve as a major resource for those affected in eastern North Carolina. As a result of the outpouring of generosity of individual donors, families, companies and businesses across the United States, our Foundation was able to be on the ground within hours of the disaster and began providing relief efforts to those whom needed it most.

We are extremely proud of our partnership with the American Red Cross as well as others, that resulted in getting immediate needs that were considered an emergency, to so many! Food, shelter, gasoline, medication, medical treatment, just to name a few, were out top priorities in the hours, days and weeks and months that followed. Our greatest strength in times of crisis is being able to serve as a valuable, trusted source, to take the monies and resources entrusted to our Foundation and get those into the hand of those in need. Our Foundation has been able to provide relief funding to The American Red Cross Cape Fear Chapter, United Methodist Men, UNCW - Cameron School of Business, Stroke of Faith Farm, Bear Garden Plantation Animal Rescue, Tryon Palace Foundation, Boys & Girls Home of North Carolina, Step Up Wilmington, Samaritan’s Purse, Reviving Ministries of New Bern, GLOW Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington, and Caring Sisters Outreach.

In addition, our Foundation is committed to helping ensure sustainability and helping families, businesses and nonprofits get back to business and doing the important work that they do, to help make eastern North Carolina the wonderful place that so may choose to call home. We would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts, to all of you whom have given of your time, talents and financial resources to help pull our friends, neighbors and families through this challenging time. Indeed, the things we have accomplished together far outweigh what we could have possibly accomplished on our own. Thank you for your life changing gifts to our Foundation which enables us to save lives and help restore normalcy to those in need.

Together we have proven that our greatest asset is one another. Thank you for helping us continue our mission of Promoting, Enabling & Celebrating Philanthropy in Eastern North Carolina, For Good, For Ever!!!
