The Community Foundation of NC East is honored to be a long term partner with Aces for Autism, a nonprofit organization located in Greenville, North Carolina, whose impact is to serve as an educational center dedicated to empowering families and individuals impacted by autism, to experience success from diagnosis through adulthood. Their goal is that each individual and family they serve will experience God’s love and purpose for their life through the quality services they provide. The foundations of their organization are integrity, hope, trust, respect, advocacy, compassion, faith in God and Christian values.
This incredible story and journey for Aces for Autism began 9 years ago, with their very first fundraiser which was a tennis tournament and a dinner auction. The inaugural event was such a huge success, that Aces for Autism Founders, Kyle and Bobbi Robinson, came to meet with me at our Foundation office in Greenville, to discuss opportunities of partnership and how we may be able to partner with them to help them further their mission and fundraising efforts with the end goal being to construct a state of the art Autism Treatment Center in Greenville, NC to serve as the state’s premier certified treatment center for families throughout eastern North Carolina.
Aces for Autism established themselves as a charitable fund of The Community Foundation of NC East, and this allowed them to operate their organization and actively raise funds while receiving tax deductible donations from across the state and region. Their determination to fight for families who face Autism has been unmatched and their exceptional commitment to their faith and God’s calling has enabled them accomplish so much in just 9 short years. Since that time of inception, they have now become their own operating 501 C-3, with a full staff inclusive of certified treatment therapists and have been providing services to eastern North Carolina families for years now.
We are beyond thrilled to also announce that in recent weeks, we attended the ground breaking at the new home site for the construction of the new Aces for Autism Ron and Rose Bowen Campus, which will by all measurements, far surpass anything we could have imagined when this initiative first began. After 9 years of hugely successful annual events with keynote speakers and dinner auctions, as well as a very generous donation of land given by the Bowen Family which will serve as the home of the new center, the Aces for Autism Therapy Center will soon be serving families with facilities and series that are state of the art and will serve as a home away from home for many.
It has been my honor to work alongside this most special family with Kyle, Bobbi and their son, Samuel, who after being diagnosed with Autism at a very young age, was the inspiration behind the Aces for Autism organization. Personally and professionally, this special family has meant the world to me and I could not be more proud to have served as a major partner and our Foundation has been a financial investor in Aces since its humble beginnings. We look forward to the wonderful accomplishments and successes in the future as we know the best is yet to come for this life changing organization!
